Joshua Vickers Milhous (3C4R) was born on 31 December 31, 1820 in Colerain, Belmont County, Ohio. Joshua Vickers died in Bigger Township, Jennings County, Indiana on April 15, 1893, he was 72. He resided in Butlerville, Jennings County, Indiana in 1854. Occupation: Nurseryman. Joshua was the model for the hero in Jessamyn West's novel Friendly Persuasion.
On December 23, 1847, when Joshua Vickers was 26, he married Elizabeth Price Griffith, daughter of Amos Gritffith and Edith Price, in Washington County, PA. She was born on April 26, 1827 in West Pike Run, Washington County, Pa. Elizabeth Price died in Whittier, Los Angeles Co., California on May 3, 1923, she was 96. Occupation: Teacher and Quaker Minister.
