Maud Talbot

Maud Talbot (2C1R) was born in Missouri on November 18, 1866 (The 1880 Census gives her birth year as 1867 and spells her name as Maude.) and died in Olympia, Washington on March 17, 1939, age 72.. She was buried in the Masonic Memorial Park in Turnwater, Washington.

Maud married Joseph Pleasant Hollomon on April 15, 1890.

The 1890 Census out of Hutchinson, Reno, Kansas lists her living with her Brother-in-law, A. M. West and her occupation as a school girl.

Benjamin Fremont Talbot 1862

Benjamin Fremont Talbot (2C1R) was born on May 14, 1862 and died in Norwood, MO. on January 31, 1909, he was 46. He was buried in Thomas Cemetery, Norwood, MO.

On March 6, 1895, when Benjamin Fremont was 32, he married Effie Lenora Nicholas, born on April 17, 1875 in Forsyth, MO. Effie Lenora died in Baxter Springs, Cherokee Co., Kansas on October 25, 1970, she was 95. She was buried in Baxter Springs Cemetery, Baxter Springs, Kansas. She resided at 812 W 12th Street, Baxter Springs, Kansas in 1910.

            Roy Colburn, 3rd Cousin, born on December 13, 1895 and died on December 8, 1980, he was 84.

            Vesta Erma, 3rd Cousin, born on December 6, 1897 and died on August 2, 1973, she was 75.

Rees Happersett Talbot (1C2R) was born in 1827 and died in 1906, he was 79.

Caleb Perry Talbot 1790

 Caleb Perry Talbot (Great Great Uncle) was born on November 16, 1790 and died on September 18, 1870, he was 79. Religion: Vestryman for fifty years in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Chruch Hill.

In 1820, when Caleb Perry was 29, he first married Eliza Jones, daughter of Squire David Jones and Hannah Graham, Eliza was born in 1791 and died in 1840, she was 49.

They had the following children:

            John Jones (1C2R) was born in 1821 and died on June 12, 1887, he was 66.

            Rees Happersett (1827-1906)

            Benjamin Perry (1C2R) died in 1863 in Gettysburg, Pa. Cause of death: Killed at Missionary Ridge during the Battle of Gettysburg.

            Elizabeth (1C2R) was born on April 29, 1829 and died on June 29, 1903, she was 74. Elizabeth married Jesse Leighton.


 About 1840, when Caleb Perry was 49, he second married Elizabeth Dampan.

            C. Wesley (1C2R) was born in 1841 and died in 1915, he was 74. Occupation: Attorney-at-Law.

Ruth Ann Talbot 1786

Ruth Ann Talbot (Great Grandmother) was born in 1786 in Berkshire, Pennsylvania.

Ruth Ann married Jacob Bruner (Great Grandfather), son of Owen Bruner and Elizabeth. Born on July 20. 1796, Jacob died in Honeybrook, Pa. on June 2, 1866, he was 69.

 

On the 2d inst., at his residence in Honeybrook two. of paralysis, Jacob Bruner, in his 69th year of his age.  So calmly, so peacefully did he fall asleep in the arms of Jesus, that it was a privilage to be there to see so aged a servant of God finish his course with such cofidence, such composure, such firmness, such blessed hope of glory beaming from his countenance; that it was a privilege indeed, the granduer of which we shall not attempt to discribe.  Born of pious parents and early taught the fear of the Lord, he sought and and obtained forgiveness of his sins as a youth, and united with the M. E. Church, in which he continued to witness a good confession forupwards of half a century.  His Christian career was marked throughout by uniform courtesy, devotion and ernestness.  He possessed a strong and well cultivated mind and an affectionate heart, all of which formed a cheerful exercise in the spere of a husband, parent, neighbor, patriot and christian.  he lived in Christ, and dying triumphantly in Christ, he found its gain. D.D.T.  VR. 6/19/1866.

Benjamin Perry Talbot Jr. 1744

Benjamin Perry Talbot Jr. (Great Great Grandfather) was born in 1744 in Pennsylvania and died there on June 3, 1838, he was 94. He resided in Berks County, Pa. in 1790, in Caernarvon Twp., Berks Co., Pa. in 1767 and in East Bradford, Chester Co., Pa. in 1766. Occupation: Farmer, in 1785 he had 50 acres, one horse, two cattle and four sheep.  He purchased a hundred acres from Eziekiel Thomas on March 29,1798. Religion: Quaker, but was disowned by Bradford Monthly Meeting on July 13, 1781 for marrying out of faith.  He was also "complained" for being concerned in military service. Namesake: Named for his father.

In 1781, when Benjamin Perry was 37, he married Mary Ann Gilkey (Great Great Grandmother),  daughter of William Gilkey and Mary Thomas (1730-?). Born in 1765, Mary Ann died on January 29, 1851, she was 86.

They had the following children:

            Mary, who married a Rettew.

            Caleb Perry (1790-1870)

            Anna May, who married a Rodgers.

Joseph Talbot (GGG Uncle) was born in 1738 in Chester County, Pa. He was Buried in Brandywine Manor Presbyterian Church, Chester Co., Pa.  Religion: Quaker, but his request for membership into Bradford Monthly Meeting was dismissed.

Elizabeth Ball (GGG Grandmother) was born on August 16, 1714 in Darby, Chester Co., Pa. Alias/AKA: Eliza. Religion: Quaker, but was disowned by church membership for marrying in the Church of England.

Elizabeth was a first cousin of Mary Ball, the mother of George Washington

On November 11, 1734, when Elizabeth was 20, she married Benjamin Perry Talbot Sr. (GGG Grandfather), son of John Talbot Sr. (about 1690-1721) and Mary Elizabeth Turner (about 1694-?), in the Church of England by Richard Blackhouse. Born on April 26, 1713, Benjamin Perry died on June 3, 1768, he was 55. He resided in Darby, Chester Co., Pa. in 1734. Religion: Quaker, but was disowned by church membership for marrying in the Church of England.
