Richard W. Meredith (Third Great Grandfather)

Richard W. Meredith was my great-great-great Grandfather. Born on July 19, 1801, Richard W. died in Honeybrook, Pa. on October 25, 1876, he was 75.

We may be related! I downloaded some info from Ron McAvoy (Email address RMcavoy 414) which lists a Benjamin F. Meredith as a son of Richard Meredith, born after 1783, who is a son of George B. Meredith, born May 29, 1768, and married to Hannah White. George B. is a son of Daniel Meredith and Mary Brown. Their children were

John born 2/18/1770 (this is my ancestor)
Joseph born 1/29/1773
Isaac born 6/17/1775
Ann born 1777
Margaret born 12/21/1778
Remember, I have no proof of any of this. It just gives you a place to start. I have proof of John's son Isaac and on down from there but that is all that I can authenticate.

About 1826 when Richard W. was 24, he married Ann Earl, who was born on March 18, 1805. Ann died on January 9, 1866 at the age of 60.

They had the following children:
Joseph E., born on 14 October 14, 1827. Joseph E. died about 1897.
Elizabeth E., born on Feb 24, 1828 and died on July 9, 1880, she was 52.
George, born on April 23, 1831. George died about 1901.
Benjamin Franklin (1834-1920)

Thomazine A., born on July 23, 1841 and died about 1911.

I found confirmation of Ruth's letter at the Chester County Historical Society. There were pages from a family Bible from the time of Richard Meredith in the vault that listed the family births and marriages.
