Daniel Meredith (Fifth Great Grandfather)

Daniel Meredith was my 5th Great Grandfather. He was born in 1745 and died on June 5, 1826 at the age of 81. Religion: Member of the Methodist Church.

In 1800, his home was on 100 acres, land to be farmed by the Meredith family for 100 years.. A new stone farmhouse was built c. 1815, a variant of Georgian style popular in township c. 1800-1850 to replace a log dwelling. This house still occupied and is located at 1358 Glen Echo Road, West Whiteland, Pennsylvania




Died In East Whiteland, on the 5th Inst. Mr. Daniel Meredith, aged 81 years. - The deceased had been, during half a century, a member of the Methodist Church, and sustained an irreproachable character "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.". Downingtown Archieve. 6/15/1826.

All persons indebted to the estate of Daniel Meredith, late of the township of West Whiteland, dec. are desired to make immediate payment, and all those having demands, are requested to bring them forward, properly authenticated for settlement, to Isaac Meredith, Executor. West Whiteland, April 4. VR. 4/11/1827.
Estate of Daniel Meredith, late of East Whiteland, Chester Co. Notice is hereby given, that letters of administration on the estate of Daniel Meredith, late of the township of East Whiteland, in the county of Chester, dec'd, have been granted to the subscribers residing in the township of West Whiteland, county aforesaid. All persons therefore, indebted to said estate, are requested to make immediate payment, and those having claims or demands against the same, to make them known without delay. On January 13,1768, when Daniel was 23, he married Mary Brown in Philadelphia, Pa. Born about 1740, Mary died about 1810, she was 70.

They had the following children:
