About 1940 when Paul Richard was 20, he married Margaret PERDUE, who was born in 1923. She resided in West Chester, Pennsylvania in 1990, on Boot Road, Indian King, Pa. in 1950 and on West Gay Street, West Chester, Pa. in 1940. She previously resided in Frazer, Pa.
(I remember Aunt Margaret as somewhat thin and stern. When ever they visited or we visited them, she made Richard and Judy dress up as if they were going to Sunday School, and she was always nagging them. She was always Margaret, too, never Marge or Maggie or Peg.—LEM)
They had the following children:
Paul Richard Jr. (1C1R) was born on December 8, 1940 in Chester County Hospital, West Chester, Pa. He resided in Newalla, Oklahoma about 1990. Alias/AKA: Richard. Namesake: Named for his father.
He was known as Richard growing up. He began going as Paul as an adult. Richard and I were fairly close as young boys. His family and my grandparents often visited and Richard and I sometimes stayed over at each other's homes. We had to share the same bed on these visits. One problem we had was he was afraid to sleep in a room with the blinds up and I was afraid to sleep in a room with them down. Richard was to be an usher at our wedding and Ronald Tipton was to be my best man. Richard became my best man when Ronald Tipton couldn't get leave from the Army to be there.--LEM
